OUR PROCESS
Hot Forging
  • Carbon and/or Alloy bars are purchased from a number of North American mills, all certified minimally as ISO 9001:2000. When applicable, we utilize only those mills directed to by specific customers.
  • We maintain in house capabilities to saw or shear bars and apply the most economical process in consideration of quality.
  • Product is forged on one or more of our quick change presses that range from 1300 to 4000 tons. We remain an industry leader forging micro alloy as well as conventional steels.
  • All presses are equipped with state of the art, computer controlled induction heaters.
  • 100% of all dies are designed and manufactured in house. All maintenance including flood welding and re-sinks are also done in house.
  • Maintenance of presses and equipment is performed in strict accordance with our preventative maintenance program. All skilled trades involved with this maintenance are Rex Forge employees.
  • Secondary operations such as piercing, coining and cleaning are done in-house.
  • In addition to in process controls, all material is final inspected prior to shipment.
  • Returnable or disposable dunnage can be utilized based on customer preference.
  • For those customers requiring forgings machined, Rex outsources to a number of excellent machining houses qualified at least ISO 9001:2000.
  • We are an Employee Owned Company. All employee have ownership and vested interest in the manufacture of quality product and the resultant customer satisfaction.
